Objective(s): To study arctic building technology, materials selection, performance with snow drift accumulation, and durability of construction; to compare arctic designs and construction with those of Antarctic buildings.

Project Description: The researcher will visit Iqaluit to collect information on the technology, materials selection, performance and durability of arctic buildings. This data will be used as part of a Ph.D. thesis which compares arctic to antarctic building designs and construction. The researcher will be recording information about the external features of buildings located in Iqaluit as well as interviewing local building designers.
